locked grooves third release on his eponymous label sees the belgian deliver an intense and driving two tracker. following his memorable collaboration with mind against and a track on life and deaths some things rise compilation, end/scherzo reveals a dark rêverie. end, with its haunting, hypnotizing synths, pulls you deeper and deeper into the vortex while scherzo brings you back up for air with its lively play of arpeggios and crescendos. end/ scherzo arrives on december 11th on both physical and digital formats, while both previous locked groove records releases will be made available digitally for the first time on the same date.

the vinyl factory has teamed up with french label zone for another rugged techno four tracker, this time from close associate and well established production talent maelstrom. though his name suggests total chaos, maelstroms music belies intention, focus and precision. often marked as exciting newcomer to french techno, maelstrom has actually been making music for over fifteen years. with a cryptic history of aliases and side projects, illegal raves thrown in warehouses and fields and basements, the artist has really come into his own under this moniker. the optics ep showcases metallic techno, acid house, industrial noise and stark ambient sounds, forging smokey machine music for those with a penchant for post punk and a soft spot for the spikier end of the techno spectrum.

the entity aka alex martin signs this four track ep, the second release of 30drop exopanets series. >unified theory ep< interweaves ways and ages, prisms and shapes to end up in an exquisite multiplicity. the proposal brings the listener to the melodic first generation of detroit techno with both cuts, >cinetica< and >te234<. discourse flows darker and more contemporary in >operator deck< while the machinery drives you to the dancefloor space in >beta test<. the entity takes control and shows his skills with >unified theory ep<.

meeting up in australia after time spent in europe and north america, old friends and collaborators angus gruzman (dreems) and jono ma (jagwar ma) teamed up in sydney and celebrated their personal climate change with a cover of the moffs 80s cult classic. equal parts of each artist shimmer in this visceral version of *another day in the sun*. a love letter to the end of the summer, also featuring the vocals of gabriel winterfield (jagwar ma), the song takes sonic cues from their surroundings on the australian east coast.

ok, we are quite slow on releasing records, but here is our next release on film. we stumbled upon the artist on a reseach for a music video - in the end we didn t discover a video director, but denial.of.service, an artist in many fields including music, video and performance art. as he ist active since the early eighties, he was involved in numerous projects, doing productions, remixes and videos for and with artists like david bowie, attrition extrawelt and daf. if you take a closer look on his artistic activity since the early 80ies ever then you will quickly realize there is a whole universe to uncover foald from around this artist. our suggestion: start with this fine ep, featuring a hidden secret artwork that unveils in the dark.

it was in high school where music joined these two boys, exchanging deep techno and trance cassettes between classes. they grew and decided to study their passion, musical production. pablo & nani share the same style but each one does it differently in their own way, we could define it as deep tech-house. in this first ep they had clear ideas, they wanted to do a vinyl that could be played at the club, either in warm up and peak time, and they have done so. “the people we like” is the favorite of dactilar, modern deep house full of details with a clean groove. “for russia with love”, pablo’s favorite, classic deep techno in honor of all his russian followers. “krampf” is the bad guy of the movie, mental techno for long dj mixes, and “the hum”, dark and powerful from beginning to end. after so many years we are pleased to present pablo bolivar & dactilar together.

in april of this year, donato dozzy took a set of mouth harps back to his parents house in the italian countryside and set about exploring the possibilities of that most basic of instruments. the mouth harp had been calling to dozzy ever since childhood, when he had discovered the marranzano on a holiday in sicily with this parents at the tail end of the 1970s. almost four decades later, dozzy had begun to see in this peculiar, ancient sound, the roots of the music hed been making and playing in clubs all these years. it was time to find out how far he could trace it all back. the loud silence is the result of those explorations, an accompanied deep-dive into childhood memory, social history and the roots of psychedelia.

huge package from west end of exclusive or never before released versions of one of the highlights from their illustrious catalogue.... arthur russell s loose joints... is it all over my face? kon (king of nothing!) sourced the original stems to completely re make the track utilising both the female and male vocal parts in his outstanding -duet- mix. also included in the barnstorming 13 minute original version that s never seen the light of day... its significantly and dare we say on par with the original version! finally included is the rare as hens teeth original female vocal 3:10 7- version that was only ever released as a promo at the time. huge release that s set to cause ever lasting ripples in the disco music community!

the fourth instalment from the jens camp comes in the form of the herman the dog ep! the a-side contains two popping tracks full of pumped up house, chunky bass and floating synth lines, whilst the flip taps into techno territory, plunging the low end into darkness and sprinkling with squelchy acid rain!

for the third whole truth ep, the nameless producer is joined by la vocal duo lucid paradise, comprised of ishtar and e. da boss (the latter is best known as the deep-voiced half of stones throws myron & e). on *party down* extends the direction of the tom noble mix of myron & e s *do it disco*, bringing beautiful modern soul vocal stylings to a limber groove that could have graced west end records in 81. the pair also duet on *who s taking all the love?*, while the whole truth flexes his dub muscles and drops some deeply burnt chords. this ep follows releases on the whole truths self-titled label in collaboration with uk dub legend erroll bellot and anglo-mauritian producer, singer and vocalist mo kolours, which found favour with the likes of optimos jd twitch and mary-anne hobbs (bbc 6 music).

deep disco warrior the revenge turns in an epic hypnotic mix of slow burning house nailed down by analogue bass and acid. using a filtered vocal it builds slowly as the bottom end is tweeked towards a mesmeric journey through minimal wigged out disco. sleazy mcqueen and romano arcaini turn in a disco inflected house mix with congas, spaces out synths and enough dynamics to keep any dancefloor bubbling. it builds with added percussion and a filtered pad before the lead hits the break and the track comes back in with even more wallop. drug empire is an original off the album and has had support from the likes of rune lindbaek, crazy p’s hot toddy and horse meat disco. said to be inspired by theo parrish’s productions it’s a delicious slice of bass driven deep disco with a nod to the looser end of detroit and chicago. it’s all about the fully locked in three note analogue moog bass which holds down the grooved out drums before breaking to jazzy rhodes at the end. one for the heads.

myk derill is one of the most interesting dub-techno artists. here he offers four great tracks of high quality and class. never hard but never soft. myk derill takes a turn for a more broken rhythm industrial looped with vocal.

for the past few years, young denmark vessey has been releasing a series of albums, both as a leader of carious groups and as a sideman in various others, which definitely mark him as one of the most exciting young players in music. vessey’s last album prior to this (2013’s cult classic) employed scud one for the rhythm section. vessey, in his own playing suggest that he may be forging a link between the new mainstream and prior innovations. it is to vessey’s credit that this album achieves a surprising degree of unity. there is little of the haphazard feeling that too often arrends blowing sessions by pick-up bands. it would be easier to mistake this for a group which works regularly. part of that is simply because vessey is a part of the new mainstream, the part that is seeking beyond the accepted common language to find ways of extending it. the rest is because of vessey’s unusual talent.

if you are not a top end disco collector with deep pockets you wont know this record, it is as rare as its gets. the last clean copy went for $6373.
